Last Saturday 7th April, our director Tom Cosgrove (pictured right) and Nadia Smith of Communities for Renewables CIC attended the EAT Weston food festival to raise awareness in the local area about our launch and activities. The event was highly successful despite morning showers, and we were glad to see how interested the local people of Weston-Super-Mare were in our initiatives, including the solar bond offer launching soon, Share the Sunshine community fund and Autumn’s upcoming fuel poverty support service. The badges (created by local designer Barnaby at CuckooO Design) proved extremely popular with children, and we would especially like to thank Joel (pictured) for his kind gesture getting stuck in and helping hand out badges.
We really enjoyed being at the festival and engaging with so many local businesses and charities, and especially appreciated the support of the young event officers as they were very polite and quick to help us move back our gazebo which caught the wind and went on a brief trip over the wall!
We would also like to thank the organisers Bev and Sarah Milner Simmonds for their hard work ensuring that the event ran smoothly and publicising attendees.
We look forward to meeting more of you at our drop in events in June. You can find us at:
The Hive in Weston-super-Mare on Monday 11th June from 3pm to 6pm
and
The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre in Burnham on Tuesday 12th June from noon until 3pm.
